Pietro Montagna

His doctoral research aims to explore the different notions and experiences of well-being and suffering in the mental health trajectories of Haitian migrants in Chile. Through different conceptualizations of the body(s) from social and medical anthropology, psychoanalysis and feminist and postcolonial theories, he will attempt to carry out an ethnography of subjectivity and forms in migratory contexts. The project aims to be an anthropological contribution to clinical mental health practices and constitutes a contribution to the collective effort to create/imagine mental health devices whose foundations emphasize an alternative world other than that of capitalism and coloniality.
