Her research proposes an ethnographic exploration of the current production of arpilleras (textile tapestries), focusing on a group of women from the Casa de la Mujer in Huamachuco. The study’s timeframe begins in 2019, within a context of social crisis, authoritarian retreat, and the transformation of traditional forms of protest. The objective is to understand how these women shape their subjectivities today through their role as arpilleristas (textile artists), using a textile practice that articulates material and affective dimensions. Through this exploration, the research seeks to investigate how arpilleras constitute repertoires that mobilize creativity, courage, agency, and care, interweaving multiple infrastructures and temporalities in friction.
